Newborn Photographer in Northern Virginia | Mother’s Day
Once a year Mother’s Day rolls around and Mom’s everywhere are celebrated, loved, and cherished. We are given homemade cards, breakfast in bed, flowers, and jewelry. We gets hugs and kisses and I love you’s. Being a Mother is hard work yet so rewarding. There was a time when I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to have anyone call me “Mom”. There was a time where I sat heart broken in a Doctor’s office and wondered if I would ever have a family. Through prayer and time I was given three amazing humans that do call me Mom. There are days it’s a piece of cake but most days, like most Mom’s, I wonder if I am failing them or if I am screwing them up. Each day is a new day and each day I get to try again. So I do and you know what? I slowly learn that I am enough and God chose ME to be their Mom. I am not going to get it right all the time but you’d better believe I am going to keep trying.
Since becoming a photographer almost 9 years ago, I have captured lots of “Mom’s”. I have taken countless images of snuggles, hugs, chases, tears, and sometimes frustration. I just call them memories. I have watched families go from zero children to two children and some even to 5 or more children. Every time, I see the hearts of these families grow and I am filled with happiness. Nothing brings me greater joy then when I hear from a client saying, “We are expecting, again!”
So, to all the Mom’s out there… the ones who hold their babies, the ones longing to hold their baby taken too soon, the ones praying for their baby to come and even the Mamaless children, You are in my heart, today and everyday. I hold you close and lift you up! Today is for ALL OF YOU!
